Uniform

At Longdean, school uniform plays a key role in promoting pride, self-confidence and a feeling of belonging to the school community. These factors contribute to students’ wellbeing and remove the pressures of deciding what to wear and added stress of meeting the fashion expectations of their peers.

Longdean School Uniform

All items of uniform are available from Stevensons.

The following are the only acceptable items of uniform for pupils attending Longdean:

  • A white shirt, buttoned to neck – long or short sleeve
  • A black pleated skirt – knee-length or below
  • Plain tailored black trousers (not cord, denim, hipsters or leggings)
  • A black blazer with embroidered badge.
  • A plain black knitted, V-neck jumper (optional) – no cardigans
  • A tie (year 7-8) dark blue with a single stripe in the House colour (also available from the school shop)
  • A tie (year 9-11) dark blue with a double stripe in the House colour (also available from the school shop)
  • White, grey or black socks only
  • Black or natural-coloured tights
  • A plain black or blue coat
  • Black shoes (that can be polished) – no high heels, boots, sandals, Uggs, plimsolls, backless shoes or trainers
  • A black jilbab or abaya.  A white shirt and school tie should be worn if the neck is not covered and a blazer must be worn over the top of the garment.
  • A black hijab

All clothes should be labelled with the student’s name.

Uniform orders can be placed with Stevensons either online, over the phone or in-store. Any queries should be raised in the first instance with Stevensons; if a query remains unresolved, parents can then contact Longdean Finance to liaise on their behalf.
