Local Governing Body
Scholars’ Education Trust values and recognises the contribution that the local governing bodies provide in raising educational standards and schools’ continuous development.
Longdean School’s Local Governing Board are responsible for providing focused governance for the school, monitoring key performance indicators and providing challenge to the Head Teacher where appropriate. It also represents the views of the school's stakeholders and assists the Scholars' trust board.
The Governing Board is made up of parents/carers, school staff and members of the community. The governors meet six times a year with a focus on the quality of education, attendance and behaviour, and personal development at Longdean School. In addition, governors take a special interest in specific areas of school activity such as Child Protection, Special Educational Needs, Pupil Premium and Health & Safety. We also try to attend events, such as open evenings, school performances and other public events.
The Chair of Longdean School’s Local Governing Board is Richard Venn.
