An overview of Key Stage 4 Results
Up until 2024, Longdean had a very distinctive curriculum. Whilst the uniqueness remains, we have changed our curriculum format a little for the current Year 9s and 10s. The 2023-24 cohort (and indeed the 2024-25 cohort) completed two options in their previous years, gaining two distinct GCSE grades. This means we have legacy qualifications for the 2024 and 2025 cohorts that count for the individual students but do not count in the performance tables for the school. You will see, therefore, two sets of data published; one with legacy qualifications and one without.
Current Year 10s will not have legacy grades as they studied a carousel of option subjects in Year 9 that enabled them to make more informed choices about their chosen option subjects in Year 10 and 11.
2024-25 will be the final year that includes legacy qualifications.
