You can access all of the systems below from a smartphone, tablet or PC – anytime, anywhere. If you do not have access to a smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access, please email the school finance department so we can explore alternative ways of staying in touch.
If you have more than one child at school, you’ll have access to information for all your children from the same website /app.
Go4Schools is used by Longdean for tracking and reporting student targets and grades. The tool supports parents and students in understanding their current working at grades and projected target levels.
Once your child joins us in September, an account will be set up for them on Go4Schools. This can be accessed via the website or the mobile app.
To access the site for the first time, click on the link above and then click on the ‘First-time User?’ tab. Here you can enter your email address (this will need to be the one you have provided to Longdean) and you will then be sent an email with a new password to gain access to the site.
To access the mobile app, search for Go4Schools in your app store and download the app to your smart device. You can log in to the app using the email address and password you have set up on the website.
For a mobile app user guide, click here. Please note, Longdean currently use a different tool for homework so you can ignore references to viewing homework on Go4Schools in the user guide.
Show My Homework (also known as SatchelOne) is used by the staff at Longdean to set homework tasks for students. Parents and students have access to the site/app to review upcoming tasks and confirm completion.
The Show My Homework app is available for Android and Apple devices, available from the Google Play Store or The App Store, and the website is available to Windows and Desktop Apple users.
Once your child joins us in September, they will be shown how to access the school network and the Show My Homework site during their first few computing lessons. Students will be able to log into the app or the website using their school Office 365 details, which will be their school email address and their school password. They should select the Orange Office 365 button on the app or the website.
Shortly after starting at Longdean, your child will bring a slip of paper home with log in details for you to gain parent/guardian access to the Show My Homework website and mobile app. Please follow the instructions below to log in to the website or mobile app.

If you have any questions or problems signing in to Satchel One, please contact the school at admin@longdean.herts.sch.uk. In addition to this, SatchelOne offer 24/7 access and support via help@showmyhomework.co.uk or 0207 197 9550.
Students who do not have access to a smart phone or the internet on a device outside school have access to the school computers before school, during break and lunch, and after school in the homework club. Homework can be noted or printed out should students require a paper-based list.
The Show My Homework website can be used to view all homework set across the school without the requirement to log in. However, to see the homework set specifically for your child and to gain a deeper insight into the homework your child receives, you will need to log in as above.
Longdean use a system called Operoo to gather information for the admission process. This tool is used to gather information from you about your child and to obtain consent for school related policies and procedures online.
Shortly after your child has been allocated a place at Longdean, you will receive an email from Operoo with your registration details (please remember to check your junk folder if you do not receive an email).
From Longdean School’s perspective, you or your child’s information will only be visible by the relevant staff for you or your child and will be managed in accordance with our privacy policies.
You can visit the parent introduction page on the Operoo website for more information here, and further details about Operoo’s security and privacy procedures can be found here.
This section provides information on how to use our current parent payment system, iPayimpact. Longdean will be cashless from September 2024 and all payments will be made online only.
Logging In
In order to use the iPayimpact web site you will need the Child Account Reference for your child, which you will receive by email.
If not previously registered on the site https://www.ipayimpact.co.uk/
If you have other children at this school or other schools and you have received a similar letter to this, you can link them to your new parental account as follows:
How to make a payment
You will receive an email receipt of your payment once it has been authorised.
Free School Meals
If your child is entitled to free school meals, their account will be automatically credited with £2.50 per day on a daily basis. This £2.50 will roll over throughout the week. This must be entirely used by Friday lunchtime. £2.50 will then be applied the following Monday and the rollover will commence again. Our main meal & dessert is £2.50, however free school meal students may use their balance as they wish across break & lunchtime. We advise free school meals funds are prioritised to buy food rather than drinks.
Top-Ups
If your child needs to ‘top-up’ this amount, you will need to ‘credit’ their account either via iPay or by your child bringing in cash and adding this to their account via the revaluation machine. Free school meals funds will always be used first when purchases are made.
Should you have any questions on the above, please contact finance@longdean.herts.sch.uk.
Reading Plus is a program that Longdean use to help your child become a better reader.
Reading Plus helps students develop the skills they need to be proficient readers and lifelong learners. Through regular Reading Plus practice, reading will become easier, comprehension will increase, and your child will make meaningful connections between reading and learning. To learn more about Reading Plus, you can visit www.readingplus.com.
Your child can complete Reading Plus assignments on a computer or tablet with Internet access. Assignments in each component can be completed in any order, but reading lessons (SeeReader) are the most important assignments. The program will keep track of assignments completed each week as well as your child's progress toward the overall lesson goals.
Before starting Reading Plus we would recommend students watch the Introduction to Reading Plus YouTube video (4 minutes).
How to Log In (your child will be provided with their username and password):
Step 1: Go to login.readingplus.com.
Step 2: Press the Student Login button.
Step 3: Enter Site Code: rplongdean1
Step 4: Type in the Username
Step 5: Type in the Password
Baseline assessment
After logging on to Reading Plus for the first time, pupils will automatically complete the initial assessment (InSight). This not only provides a baseline, but also assigns the pupil to the most appropriate start point for the reading lessons. The InSight assessment is adaptive to meet the needs of each pupil and typically takes between 30-45 minutes to complete.
Getting started on Reading Plus lessons
Once the assessment is completed, students then move seamlessly onto the Reading Plus teaching program. You and your child can watch more help videos if you’d like to learn more.
