At Longdean we follow the AQA Specification A.  The four themes that make up the syllabus are:

• The Business Environment
• Business Structure, Control and Organisation
• Organising to Achieve Objectives
• People in Organisations

The course gives students an insight into the way businesses work. The aim is to enable students to think critically about businesses and their role in the world, examining both the favourable and unfavourable aspects in order to make their own decisions.

Coursework is worth 25% of the final mark and is completed in the Summer Term of Year 10. The coursework examines the role supermarkets play in Hemel Hempstead and the UK and students investigate whether the big supermarkets are good for the country and our local area.
