Key Stage 5
Post 16, there is the AS/ A2 option
of Physical Education alongside an extensive games
programme involving most sixth form students.
Here there is an opportunity to
select from a variety of activities including aerobics,
climbing, swimming, yoga and martial arts or train and
play for school in netball, basketball and football.
A Level PE is intended for students
who are both physically able and who have a strong
desire to study, in depth, academic aspects of Physical
Education.
The theoretic aspects account for
60% of the total marks. This includes Anatomy and
Physiology, Acquisition of Skill, Socio-cultural Studies
in Year 12 and Historical aspects, Psychology and
Exercise Physiology in Year 13. There will be practical
modules in both Year 12 and 13.

interest in sport at a higher educational level |
