Overview:

GCE A-LEVEL and AS-LEVEL (Years 12-13)

We follow the Edexcel Specification A syllabus and have outstanding results over many years.

At AS-Level there are three units:

i) Plate Tectonics, Coasts and Rivers
ii) Population, Migration and Settlement
iii) Applied Geographical Skills

At A-Level there are also three units:

i) Glacial and Atmospheric Systems
ii) Economic Systems and Development
iii) Synoptic Issues

All of the units are assessed by written exam and the Applied Skills Paper is based on 5 days of fieldwork in Year 12. There is NO coursework! Exam results in 2006 showed that 80% of students did as well as and better than the average for their prior attainment and 47% did better than similar students in the upper quartile (better than 75% of like students).
